The Ants Go Marching One-by-One

Hurrah! Hurrah! And they all go marching down - to the ground - to get out - of the rain....boom, boom, boom.

So I'm thinking about changing the words of this song....
And they all go marching in - to our house - to get out - of the rain.....boom, boom, boom.

We are experiencing an ant infestation and it's driving me batty. I looked up "getting rid of ants" tonight on google and read some interesting techniques for ridding your house of ants. We have been very careful about sweeping up crumbs after every meal as well as washing the floors weekly. But they're still coming back. We may try the baby powder suggestion -- that seems pretty harmless for kids in comparison to some of the other things mentioned on some of the websites I was looking at. At least they haven't figured out how to climb up on the counters/table. And they have been a source of entertainment for the kids. The other day the kids had their flashlights out looking for ants under the stove/refrigerator. And tonight Hannah couldn't wait to get down from the dinner table to go search for ants in her bedroom.

Any suggestions are welcome on how to get rid of ants.

Hey Kim! We had ants in our condo when we first got married...it was so gross every morning coming out to the kitchen to see a trail of them coming up onto the kitchen counter, and we kept the place clean...I'm not sure what they were after! We got some little ant bait that they'd crawl into and it worked really well and fast...I'm not sure how it would be with Luke on the floor tho, you'd have to check the box or monitor it really closely, but it worked well! Hope you get it taken care of! :)

Hi Michelle!
So the ants visited someone else for a while. But today when I returned home from taking Jacob to preschool they were back! I think maybe they are trying to find a warm, dry place to hang out. The past few days have been dry and warmer. Today it's cold and snowy. My theory is they are only coming in to escape the cold and wet conditions and this ant problem will be all cleared up once it stays warm and dry! One can only hope!!!

I hope so! Crazy Colorado weather has them all confused, eh?
Well, I did manage to get an Easter picture together...it was nothing formal at all, in fact Livi was sitting in her seat at the table and Carson stood next to her, but a friend was over and she was able to make both of them smile. So I quickly got the camera and took one and sent it in to Walgreens, had it developed, glued them in the homemade cards and put them in the mail, all in an hour and a half...it was great! :-) Happy Easter to you, too!
